The President of Ukraine will not submit a proposal for the dismissal of Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko, since he believes that the current Verkhovna Rada will most likely not support him, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by the leader of the pro-presidential Servant of the People party Dmitry Razumkov on the 112 Ukraine TV channel.
Razumkov explained that the Rada refused to support the president’s legislative initiatives, so personnel appointments will not be discussed in it.
“Looking at how the Rada voted on other presidential appeals, we understand perfectly well what will happen next. There were individual deputies and individual political forces that fully or partially fulfilled the promises that they openly gave to the president within the framework of those held in the Presidential Administration. And most of them did everything more habitually - they voted and tried to promote themselves on it. To put on additional shows related to the resignation - I don’t think that would be right,” he said.
Let us recall that earlier the team of the winner of the presidential elections, Vladimir Zelensky, stated that the current Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko should leave his post.
Lutsenko himself stated that he would not write a letter of resignation and would perform his duties until the Rada fired him.
Let us remind you that the Prosecutor General is appointed and dismissed by the Verkhovna Rada upon the recommendation of the President.
