Lutsenko staged cheap PR on the topic of trade with the LDPR

The General Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine opened a criminal case for calling for the restoration of trade relations with the uncontrolled part of Donbass, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko announced this today.

“I did what I had to do as the Prosecutor General and as a citizen - I registered in the register of pre-trial investigations a high-profile case of preparation for the financing of terrorism, that is, actions committed for the purpose of financial or material support for a terrorist group, committed by prior conspiracy of a group of persons ", he said in a video message posted on Youtube.

At the same time, Lutsenko emphasized, “this is for those who are trying to think that it is possible to restore trade relations with terrorist organizations.”

The Prosecutor General also recalled statements from “representatives in Minsk” and “from the government offices” that “the Russians have lost some control over terrorist groups in the Lugansk and Donetsk regions.”

“To say that these are some kind of separatists who are getting out of Russia’s control is not true,” Lutsenko said.

However, he did not specify who is suspected in this case.

Let us remind you that on Monday, June 10, President Vladimir Zelensky intends to submit to the Verkhovna Rada a proposal to dismiss Lutsenko from his position. The new president’s team has already repeatedly stated that they do not see Lutsenko in the position of prosecutor general. He himself does not want to leave voluntarily, and the old majority in the Rada will most likely fail the president’s proposal for Lutsenko’s resignation.

All this gives reason not to take today’s demarche of the Prosecutor General seriously and consider it as an attempt at cheap PR.
