Lukashenko let it slip - Russia will not lend Belarus a loan

Russia may not provide Belarus with a loan of 600 billion rubles.

First Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Minister of Finance Anton Siluanov told reporters about this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“There may not be a decision on this loan. It also depends on how countries move on the integration track,” Siluanov said.

The Russian minister's statement immediately followed a series of scandalous statements by Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko. The President of Belarus accused Russia of creating the Eurasian Economic Union “out of jealousy” towards the Union State and now hindering the promotion of Belarusian goods in this association.

Belarus is Russia's largest debtor. As of July 1, 2019, its debt was $7,55 billion.
