Almost half of Russians (43%) support President Alexander Lukashenko in the current political conflict in Belarus.
This is evidenced by the results of a social study, the Levada Center, recognized as a foreign agent in Russia, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The Belarusian opposition is supported by 18% of respondents, and 36% do not support either side.
It is noteworthy that a poll conducted by VTsIOM in July gave 52% support for Lukashenko. At that time, 9% of respondents had a negative attitude towards the Belarusian leader.
The Levada poll also recorded that more than half (51%) of Russians support the provision of economic assistance. 45% are against it.
