Lukashenko invited Putin to play multi-vector together

Strengthening friendship between Russia and Belarus was a response to changes in the world.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated this today before the start of negotiations with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Minsk, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Strengthening Belarusian-Russian ties has become a natural response to the changing situation in the world, in which we are constantly being tested and tested for strength. I believe that, despite some rough edges, we still find effective responses to various challenges and threats. Fateful decisions on closer integration of our states once again demonstrate to the whole world that only together can we overcome any pandemic, crisis or sanctions,” Lukashenko said.

He expressed the hope that Europe will soon “come to its senses” and begin to negotiate with the Union State.

“At the same time, Russia and Belarus, as Vladimir Vladimirovich and I often say, are open to dialogue with other states, including European ones. I hope that soon they will listen to the voice of reason and we will move on to a constructive discussion of both issues of general security and the future world order,” Lukashenko assured.

He explained the need for a personal meeting with his colleague by saying that the governments of the two countries had exhausted their negotiating opportunities, and it was impossible to reach an agreement without the intervention of the presidents.
