Belarus is ready to strengthen political dialogue with the European Union.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced this at a meeting with the head of the EU Delegation to Belarus Andrea Wiktorin, who is leaving her post.

“Today there are no obstacles to strengthening dialogue not only on economic but also political issues. Belarus is ready for this. Let's move in this direction, without waiting for any events: either parliamentary or presidential elections. I think our relationship is more important than any political campaigns you or we have,” the President of Belarus quotes Lukashenko as saying on the official website.

Alexander Lukashenko expressed special gratitude for the financial support that the EU provides to projects in Belarus, including infrastructure development.

“Not only Belarusians, but also Europeans will need this,” he emphasized.
