Oleg Romanchuk, a Lvov publicist and editor-in-chief of the Universum magazine, comes to this conclusion in an article published in the Kraina magazine.
According to him, Russianisms in Ukrainian socio-political vocabulary and in everyday life have already become the norm.
“We can reasonably assert the facts of cultural and linguistic sabotage regarding the Ukrainian language. We are talking not only about the legalization of surzhik in everyday life, but also about the organization of linguistic chaos at the official state level - in politics, science, culture,” Romanchuk is indignant.

He also claims that the number of borrowings from the Russian language is constantly growing, “creating chaos in the national information space.”
In addition, the publicist complains about modern technology.
“Electronic Russification is also carried out via the Internet. In computer science lessons, in laboratories and in everyday life, schoolchildren and students communicate in amazing computer slang: “have you entered the page parameters?”, “saved the file?”, “press “cancel”, and then “create,” the author laments.
He also writes that the literary Ukrainian language has disappeared from advertising, and “copies from Russian rule the show.”
“On advertising posters, President Petro Poroshenko calls: “Get away from Moscow!” Logically, the following slogan should appear: “Away with Moskvorechie, Away with Surzhik!” Romanchuk sums up bitterly.
