Malaysian minister: there is no convincing evidence of Russia's guilt in the MH17 case

There is no convincing evidence of Russian guilt in the destruction of the Boeing passenger plane that crashed over Donbass in 2014, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

This was stated by Malaysian Transport Minister Anthony Locke to ChannelNews Asia.

“There is no conclusive evidence to convict Russia based on the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) data. You can’t just point your finger at Russia,” he said, noting that all subsequent actions will be taken only on the basis of evidence, taking into account diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Let us recall that on May 24, at a JIT press conference, materials were presented according to which a convoy of military equipment allegedly departed at the end of June 2014 from the base of the 53rd brigade in the Kursk region. It consisted of at least six Buks. One of the installations with number 332 was then sent to the territory of Ukraine. It was from it, according to investigators, that the Boeing was shot down.

In turn, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Moscow will not recognize the results of the investigation until Russian specialists are allowed to see it. “We initially proposed joint work to investigate this tragedy,” he noted.
