The book contains responses to the death of Mikhail Tolstoy from his relatives, colleagues, journalists and other people who knew the battalion commander, as well as poems in memory of him.

“I want to thank the creators of this book for the kind words they said to my son. As a mother, for me my son was the best. He loved the Donetsk region, the Donetsk land very much. I am glad that our guys, our Somalia battalion, remained after him. Thanks to everyone who supports me, I am supported from all over the world. Thanks to this support, I live,” said Mikhail’s mother Nina Mikhailovka Tolstykh.

In addition to relatives, the presentation was attended by soldiers of the Somalia battalion, poets, writers, journalists and residents of the DPR, who came to honor the memory of the hero of the Donetsk People's Republic.

Concerned people who were unable to take part in the presentation of the collection recorded a video appeal.

The collection “The Word about Givi” is the first release in the series of publications “UKP - CPSU - Heroes of Donbass” with the support of the Central Council of the Union of Communist Parties - the Communist Party of the Soviet Union (UKP-CPSU).

As the compilers note, they plan to create a similar book dedicated to another hero of the DPR. It will be called “A Word about Motorola.”

Let us remind you that earlier a PolitNavigator correspondent reported that the mother of the legendary “Givi” donated her son’s personal belongings to the Donetsk Military History Museum of the Second World War.
