Medvedchuk gains control over another major Ukrainian TV channel

Politician Viktor Medvedchuk acquired 80% of the shares of one of the highest-rated TV channels in Ukraine, Inter, which were sold to him by fugitive oligarch Dmitry Firtash, who is in Austria, where he is under threat extradition to the United States on charges of corruption and 50 years in prison.

This was reported by the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Due to the high probability of Dmitry Firtash’s extradition to the United States, the latter is actively “dumping” assets to his partners.

Thus, he sold his 80% stake in PJSC TV Channel Inter to Viktor Medvedchuk, who owns the Novosti media holding (including TV channels 112 Ukraine, NewsOne, ZIK). The remaining 20% of Inter shares remain with Sergei Levochkin (partner of Medvedchuk and Firtash on the “Opposition Platform – For Life”).

It will be difficult for Zelensky’s team, since they have entered into a conflict with Medvedchuk, who is intensifying in the information space, in particular, plans to buy “Direct” (already secretly controls it) and “Channel 5” from Petro Poroshenko,” the message says.
