Medvedev said what is still missing for the rapprochement of Russia and Serbia

The total volume of Russian investments in Serbia is around $4,5–5 billion. Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev stated this in an interview with the Serbian newspaper “Evening News,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“This is a certain level. More can be done and more needs to be done, but I still cannot help but say that our largest companies are present on the Serbian market. I mean, for example, the participation of Gazpromneft in the capital of such a well-known company as the Oil Industry of Serbia. This is not just a company, it is a systemically important company that makes a significant, significant contribution to taxes in Serbia. This is the main taxpayer. I think this example and a lot of other examples still show that investment cooperation is underway,” Medvedev said.

In his opinion, the rapprochement of the two countries lacks cooperation at the level of small and medium-sized businesses.

“Here, there really is something to do, and we would definitely need this kind of contacts. As for the policy of the Serbian authorities, I have no questions here. It seems to me that this is a most favored nation policy, as lawyers usually say, in relation to investments from the Russian Federation,” Medvedev said.
