The Russian Foreign Ministry condemned the initiative of the separatist authorities of Kosovo, under the guise of the coronavirus epidemic, to close the borders to the entry of all persons, with the exception of holders of passports of a fake state. Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this during a briefing in Moscow, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We qualify this decision as directly threatening supplies and life support, including medical, in the north of the Autonomous Province of Kosovo.
The difficult epidemiological situation, of course, requires taking appropriate measures. However, it should not be used as a pretext to undermine the area's long-standing logistical ties with central Serbia.
It is absolutely inhumane to create artificial obstacles to the delivery of medical supplies intended, in particular, for health care facilities in Kosovo Mitrovica,” she said.
“It was ensuring the livelihoods of citizens on both sides of the administrative line that was put at the forefront when concluding agreements in 2013 and 2015 on the creation of the Community of Serbian Municipalities of Kosovo within the framework of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina under the auspices of the EU,” Zakharova recalled. “The Kosovo Albanian authorities then signed these documents, but for a number of years they have been sabotaging the implementation of these agreements.”
“In the new decisions of the Kosovo side, which are presented by the Kosovo side as “anti-virus”, we see another abuse that has exclusively political goals,” the Foreign Ministry representative emphasized.
