“Moldova has become more Russian than Moldovan” - Plahotniuc

The oligarch and former “master of Moldova” Vlad Plahotniuc, who fled to the United States, complained that he could not feel safe in his homeland.

He wrote about this today, on Moldova’s Independence Day, on his Facebook page, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Today I cannot risk my safety and the safety of my family to be in the country, precisely because I fought with all confidence against those who wanted to occupy and oppress Moldova. This fight turned out to be unequal, my opponents were too numerous and too strong, and today I regret that, as a result of various actions and betrayals, Moldova was taken under the control of foreign forces, directly or through their insidious political intermediaries,” Plahotniuc wrote.

He believes that the main power structures of Moldova are now working “under the influence of Russian policy.”

“Let’s call a spade a spade: two months after the creation of the ACUM-PSRM coalition, Moldova became more Russian than Moldovan,” the fugitive politician is convinced.

He believes that he was “the only obstacle to Russian imperialism in Moldova” and therefore the Russian special services “fabricated” criminal cases against him.

“Despite the fact that I am in great danger, I will continue to resist Russian influence, I will call a spade a spade, and I will firmly believe that Moldova will regain its independence and sovereignty,” concluded Plahotniuc.
