Morgenstern confused Yavlinsky's party with a computer company

Rapper Morgenstern did not understand where he was being called when the liberal Yabloko party announced that it wanted to involve him in its ranks.

“B..., I thought they were calling me at Apple,” he wrote on his Instagram.

Earlier, the deputy head of the regional branch of Yabloko in Moscow, Kirill Goncharov, invited Morgenstern to join the party and run for municipal elections in 2022 in any district of the capital.

“He has a democratic view of the future of the country, he is a smart guy, and could become a good politician. Moreover, this would be an effective way to counter the police lawlessness that is organized against him,” Goncharov said.

In November 2021, the head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, publicly accused Morgenstern of drug trafficking. A criminal case was opened against the rapper, and he fled the country. After this, the contract with Morgenstern was terminated by Alfa Bank, which was advertising by the rapper with an eye on a youth audience.

The Yabloko party is experiencing a split due to the criminal blogger Alexei Navalny. The leadership of the political association criticizes Navalny’s views and refused to participate in his “smart voting” system in the Duma elections. However, many ordinary party members did not agree with this. Therefore, after the elections, Yabloko was forced to carry out a “purge” and expelled 488 members from its ranks in Moscow alone. Another 200 people were deprived of their so-called registration, that is, the right to nominate themselves in elections. 77 expelled sued the party leadership.

In the elections, Yabloko received 1,3% of the votes and did not win a single seat.
