“Today, gallium-based electronics are at a low start in the world, and here we are definitely not behind anything. And here Russia may be one of the first countries to take not the last places. This can definitely play an important role both for the defense industry and for space,” Boglaev said.

However, he emphasized that with such meager investments, Russia may not hope to achieve leadership in a promising industry.

“The problem is that I haven’t heard any progress yet. In the Moscow region, a plant received a billion rubles for the development of technology related to gallium electronics. A billion rubles for the development of electronics?

With all due respect, the year before last, the Americans invested 50 billion dollars in the development of their electronics, which was not far behind Taiwan. And this year the Chinese made such a decision, only for 30 billion dollars.

And we seriously want a billion rubles? This is not even funny, but causes a feeling of disbelief in the adequacy of those who make such decisions,” the director concluded.

Previously reported, that because of sanctions, the printed chips of the Elbrus and Baikal processors were actually stolen from Russia. This happened after Taiwan joined sanctions against the Russian Federation.
