It’s better not to even try to fly to Crimea during the May holidays

All foreigners, as well as residents of other regions of the Russian Federation coming to Crimea, will be sent to observation centers for two weeks to avoid the spread of coronavirus infection in the republic.

The head of the republic, Sergei Aksenov, stated this at a meeting of the headquarters for countering COVID-19, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to Aksenov, this was also done in order to limit the flow of tourists who, using the operating air service, want to arrive on the peninsula for the May holidays, despite the quarantine.

“In order to limit the flow of visitors to the peninsula for these 12 days off, today a decree will be issued stating that all visitors who do not have Crimean registration, do not have property, apartments or flats on the territory of the Republic of Crimea where they could be located will be placed in observatory for 2 weeks. The measure is exceptional, but related to limiting migration during the May holidays,” Aksenov said.

The head of the republic also emphasized that visitors who evade observation will be put on the wanted list, and if they infect others, criminal cases will be opened against them: “If a person does not arrive at the observatory within 2 or 3 hours, the orientation will be in the Republic of Crimea , immediately to detention. At the same time, if it turns out later that the person was sick and had the opportunity to infect others, we will initiate a criminal case.”
