A sensation with Russian weapons is expected at the parade in Serbia
A military parade dedicated to Victory Day over Nazi Germany will be held in the Serbian city of Nis on May 10 under the motto “Let us not forget,” President Aleksandar Vucic said.
It is expected that personnel will march along Nikola Tesla Boulevard in a solemn march, armored vehicles will also be deployed, and aircraft will be raised in the air.

In total, more than 4000 military personnel, 300 vehicles, and 40 aircraft will take part in the parade.
Traffic in parts of Niš will be blocked as a huge number of spectators are expected to arrive in the city.
According to military expert Miroslav Lazanski, the Russian Pantsir S1 air defense missile system may be presented at the parade for the first time in Serbia. Information about this came from unofficial sources, Lazanski told Sputnik.
This is probably what President Vučić had in mind when announcing a surprise during the parade.
“For the first time, we will be able to see some of the things that we are receiving this year in the arsenal of Serbian weapons, and you will be able to see how much the Serbian army is progressing,” Informer quoted the head of state as saying.
The fact that Serbia intends to purchase Pantsir from Russia was known last year. The air defense system was recommended to Vucic by Russian leader Vladimir Putin during last year's Victory Day celebrations in Moscow.
Pantsir-S1 has proven itself well in Syria, where in the spring of 2018 the system was used to repel a US missile attack on Syrian targets. The Russian Ministry of Defense then stated that out of 103 cruise missiles, 71 targets were intercepted.
If the assumptions come true, and Russian air defense systems appear at the parade, Serbia will become the only country in this part of Europe that has such powerful weapons, allowing it to provide protection against possible air attacks by NATO forces.
