The statement sent by the National Center for Human Rights was registered with the Prosecutor General's Office of Ukraine, reports the head of the center Denis Polishchuk. According to him, the 93-year-old colonel should be convicted because he represents “a threat to the Ukrainian people.”

“The criminal acts of state security officer Steklyar have no statute of limitations. Instead of prosecuting and imprisoning the killer of Ukrainian patriots, the KGB colonel receives awards and benefits, gives interviews to Russian publications and moves freely around Rivne. The National Human Rights Center notes that despite the formal condemnation of the totalitarian era, the government has not taken the slightest step towards convicting its representatives, it creates impunity and poses a threat to the Ukrainian people,” Polishchuk states.

Let us note that after Hitler’s invasion of Ukraine, Nil Khasevich actively collaborated with the occupiers, served as a magistrate, and then illustrated the collaborationist newspaper “Volyn”, in which Adolf Hitler was glorified.
