In Ukraine, there are approximately 21 thousand km of heating networks that are in extremely difficult condition; their modernization costs about 7 billion euros.

This was announced by the Minister of Regional Development, Construction and Housing and Communal Services Gennady Zubko.
“The 21 thousand km of heating networks that exist in Ukraine today are in extremely difficult condition, as funds are spent on preparing more enterprises, boiler houses and in-house heating systems for the heating season. As for heating networks, I think that it is precisely the concept of reforming the thermal power industry that we proposed to the Ministry of Regional Development that is more relevant for large cities,” the minister said.
According to the minister, modernizing heating networks costs twice as much as building new ones.
“Today, practical capital investments in modernization, compared to the construction of new networks, cost twice as much as the construction of a new thermal power system. Therefore, we are now working out exactly this system with international financial partners, and it is important for us that we have partners who will finance large amounts of money. And we believe that the amount of funds for modernization is from 5 to 7 billion euros,” the minister noted.
