In 2018, the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine collected 4,6 billion hryvnia in alimony from debtors. This amount is double the previous year, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Justice Minister Pavel Petrenko announced this on his Facebook page.
“In 2018, state executors of the Ministry of Justice recovered 4,6 billion hryvnia of debts for the payment of alimony in favor of Ukrainian children. This is almost double the figure for 2017, when 2,4 billion hryvnia of debt was returned to children,” Petrenko wrote.
The minister added that such successful results were achieved thanks to the “No Other People’s Children” campaign.
From now on, alimony debtors do not have the opportunity to go abroad. Later the police joined the action. Anyone who has debts to their children is prohibited from driving. Subsequently, debtors were banned from hunting. Such restrictions forced debtors to finally pay the alimony that had accumulated over many years.
