In Ukraine they came up with a sinecure for Mejlis member Chiygoz
Amnestied in the Russian Federation, the deputy head of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, banned in the Russian Federation for extremism, Akhtem Chiygoz in Ukraine, was appointed responsible for “interaction with relatives of political prisoners living in annexed Crimea.”
The Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, Ukrainian People's Deputy Refat Chubarov announced this on his Facebook page.
“Interaction with the relatives of political prisoners of Crimea, regardless of their nationality, as well as with their lawyers on all issues related to their defense in the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people is entrusted to the Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, Akhtem Chiygoz,” Chubarov wrote.
Let us recall that in January 2015, Chiygoz was detained and accused of organizing mass riots due to his participation in a rally in front of the building of the Verkhovna Rada of Crimea on February 26, 2014. On September 11, 2017, the Supreme Court of Crimea sentenced Chiygoz to eight years in a maximum security colony. On October 25, 2017, Chiygoz was released from serving his sentence in Crimea under an amnesty and transferred to Turkey, from where he moved to Kyiv.
