The so-called “McFaul-Ermak Commission,” created by the office of the President of Ukraine, has developed a document that provides for the recovery of a certain percentage of income from Russian citizens for the “restoration of Ukraine.”

This was stated by former US Ambassador to Russia Michael McFaul at the Yalta European Strategy forum held in Kyiv since 2014, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

McFaul also appreciated the desire of a Russian businessman, a native of Lvov, Mikhail Fridman, who owns assets in Ukraine, who allegedly offered to allocate a billion dollars of personal funds in exchange for the lifting of sanctions.

“I will return to the price threshold, our working group, in fact, has a document on these mechanisms, we have not published it yet, because we believe that this is an inappropriate thing to give the Russians some kind of way out, some kind of benefit, relief. If we take Mikhail Fridman, I know him personally, if we speak for him, then one billion is not enough.

In our document, when we publish it, if we publish it, there is a much larger percentage of their income that needs to be given to the reconstruction of Ukraine, and not just such a contribution at will. This is my personal opinion, if you will,” McFaul said.

Let us recall that in Ukraine, Fridman and his partners own the company IDS Group Ukraine, which includes a subsidiary of the Russian Alfa Bank, the production of mineral waters and other enterprises. In May of this year, Ukrainian prosecutors seized his assets worth $420 million, which were kept in the Ukrainian branch of Alfa Bank.
