Ukraine admitted that due to coal shortages, severe frosts would be a disaster for the country.
According to the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine, as of November 1, some energy generating companies' coal reserves amounted to 20-23% of the plan, and in comparison with reserves as of the same date last year, reserves are 40-50% lower.

Energy expert Andrei Gerus stated this at a round table dedicated to the problems of the heating season, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Are we going to have no frosts this winter or will it be different than last year? I understand why they do this, such tricks with warehouses. We see the order of the Cabinet of Ministers with a certain reasoning; probably next week the wholesale price of electricity and the tariff for next year will be considered. I think that, most likely, everything will be fine, the coal will be delivered. But here the risks are different - if suddenly there are some unpredictable things, severe frosts for several weeks in a row, then there may be some kind of force majeure,” the expert warned.
