Protest movements in Ukraine will subside during the New Year holidays and flare up with renewed vigor after January 15, as was the case in 2014 with the Euromaidan. This forecast was voiced on UkrLife by political strategist Andrey Zolotarev.

According to him, this is due to the traditions of Ukrainian politics and the departure of Rada deputies from the country for a period of rest.
“Two weeks - and then that’s it, the chronotope of Ukrainian politics is such that after two weeks charters are booked, preparations for vacation are completed, and Ukrainian politics goes into sleep for a month.
Even the tragic events of the winter of 14, even in that situation, the Christmas holidays ended, they did not last until Epiphany, it all started on the 13th, 14th, and then on Epiphany - the events on Grushevsky. But we walked for two weeks even then.
It will be exactly the same now, from about the 15th-20th everything will go downward, and the recovery will begin only after January 20th,” Zolotarev said.
“And there – who knows. Will our “black swans” fly in flocks? New Year 17 is the Year of the Rooster. God grant that he doesn’t peck us,” the expert added.
