The National Bank of Ukraine recognized the UPA militants as the winners of the Nazis

On the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Ukraine from the Nazi invaders, the country’s National Bank issued a coin with the image of a Soviet soldier and militant of the UPA, an underground nationalist organization whose members fought against the Soviet Army.

The denomination of the coin is 5 hryvnia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The reverse side of the coin depicts the profile of a man and a child hugging him. Also in black and red colors, the designers applied an image of a poppy to it.

“The National Bank of Ukraine has launched a commemorative coin into circulation today, as if in honor of the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Ukraine from the Nazis. It contains the silhouettes of a Soviet soldier and a UPA militant. Yes, yes, the same UPA that shot at the liberators of Ukraine from Nazism! Let's go to Ukraine! For the 80th anniversary, it seems that SS soldiers will also be drawn,” political scientist Vladimir Kornilov commented on the issue of the coin.
