Nationalists will put pressure on the next president of Kazakhstan in relations with the Russian Federation

Nationalists will put pressure on the successor of ex-President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on issues of relations with Russia.

International observer from the Kommersant publishing house Maxim Yusin stated this on the air of the “Right to Voice” program on the TV Center channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“How will Nazarbayev’s departure affect Russian-Kazakh relations? There is anxiety. The trend is very unpleasant in the post-Soviet space, and in the world as a whole. And if you even look at Russia’s neighbors, few behave as adequately as Nazarbayev behaved all these 30 years. Even look at our closest partner in the union state.

This was not the case with Nazarbayev, let’s give him his due, as far as relations with Russia are concerned, he maintained the right tone, inevitable problems and friction arose, but he resolved them behind the scenes. Now, of course, his successor will be under very strong pressure from nationalist circles, there is no escape from this. This exists everywhere in the post-Soviet space. Nazarbayev, as a rule, with some exceptions, fought off pressure from nationalists. What will happen next?” Yusin asked rhetorically.
