Italian media believe that any armed formations in Ukraine consist of volunteers and people who periodically take up arms and go to Donbass as if on a safari.
Vitaly Markiv, a Nazi militant of the National Guard of Ukraine, who was convicted in Italy for the murder of a journalist in 2014 and was released through the efforts of the Kyiv authorities, spoke about this at a press conference in Kiev, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“During the entire period of my persecution, my detention in Italy, the National Guard of Ukraine was in no way considered by the local media as a military formation. They used the words corpo pare militare, that is, this is a paramilitary armed formation formed from volunteers, they emphasized this, and people who took weapons in their free time and just simply went, they always used such phrases - “on safari.”
That is, discrediting the volunteer movement, discrediting the National Guard of Ukraine. Including, not only the National Guard, any armed formations fell under this definition - the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the national police, and this was without exception, that is, that in Ukraine there is no army as such,” the Nazi complained.
