Naftogaz is losing its chances of getting Russian money

Eurobonds of the Ukrainian state gas company Naftogaz have been assigned an unsecured doubtful rating.

Izvestia writes about this, citing a press release from the international rating agency Fitch Ratings.

It is noted that the agency doubted that Naftogaz would be able to receive money from the Russian Gazprom within the framework of the Stockholm arbitration decision.

“Taking into account this factor, the agency’s experts assigned Naftogaz’s Eurobonds a preliminary priority unsecured rating of “B-” (currently the obligations are being fulfilled, but the prospects are doubtful) and an asset recovery rating of “RR4,” the publication notes.

Let us recall that the Stockholm Arbitration Court made a decision obliging Gazprom to pay Naftogaz $2,56 billion. The Russian monopolist did not agree with this verdict and filed an appeal.
