Nalyvaichenko admitted that he was suspected of having links with the CIA
The former head of the SBU, Valentin Nalyvaichenko, confirmed that immediately after his appointment to this post in February 2014, he closed the case against himself regarding the disclosure of state secrets to CIA employees in the SBU building.

He stated this today in the Obolonsky District Court of Kyiv, where the case of treason against the former President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych is being heard, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The case was initiated on the direct orders of your client under pressure from the Russian Federation, since I was in opposition to the president. This was revenge for my position against the continued presence of the Russian Black Sea Fleet on the territory of our Crimea. This was the revenge of high-ranking FSB officers, whom I expelled from Crimea in 2009 and broke the agreement with the FSB,” Nalyvaichenko told Yanukovych’s lawyer.
He denied that he had provided the CIA with an entire floor in the building of the Kyiv SBU, but spoke in favor of cooperation with the American intelligence service.
“I believed and continue to believe that the United States is a strategic partner for our national security, which is confirmed by the latest decisions of the American administration to support Ukrainian independence and territorial integrity. It was with the help of the American government that the anti-terrorist center was built. Therefore, cooperation with the United States was, is and, I think, will remain,” Nalyvaichenko said.
When the lawyers asked why it was necessary to cooperate with the CIA, but not with the FSB, the judge rejected this question.
