The top failure of the Ukrainian army in 2020 has been named
The purchase of weapons for the Ukrainian army is the main failure of 2020 in the defense sector - corruption and shady schemes still reign here, and they are trying to “spread” scarce financial resources in all directions instead of concentrating on key projects.
Ukrainian military expert Taras Chmut stated this on the Militarist Portal YouTube channel, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Thus, in first place on the list of top failures of 2020 among channel viewers was State Defense Procurement. In this regard, the presenter had a question for the expert whether this was actually true.
“Nothing has really changed this year. Purchases, as they happened annually, now we are talking about 3 years, 3-5 years, purchases, as they happened in the shadow - we do not understand pricing, we do not understand why they choose this or that product.
At the same time, state-owned enterprises cannot earn normal money, because the percentage of how much they can earn on their products by selling them to the state has not been determined, and they are absolutely not competitive. As for foreign technology, there are no such restrictions.
At the same time, we are trying to spread our limited resources into a thin layer over the huge pie of the Ukrainian defense industry, instead of accumulating them in key niches for us, where we have foreign economic potential and where our products can be competitive,” Chmut laments.
