Refugees are returning to Kharkov and the settlements of the region abandoned by Russian troops. However, this is still very dangerous today, because shelling continues. This was reported by the head of the Kharkov OVA Oleg Sinegubov on Telegram.
“People began to return to Kharkov en masse. Every day we record the return of about 2-2,5 thousand people by rail. This is western Ukraine, people are even returning from abroad. The city comes to life, more cars appear... Even people are starting to return to de-occupied settlements, but this is still very dangerous today. Because the liberated Tsirkuns were shelled today, as well as, essentially, the city of Kharkov, the Kiev district, where the State Emergency Service building is located, came under fire at night, so we still cannot say that Kharkov is absolutely safe,” said Sinegubov.
The official also noted that in the shelling zone there are such settlements in the region as Prudyanka, Olkhovatka, Saltovka and Pyatikhatki.
“There are attacks on our positions from the territory of the Russian Federation, and our Armed Forces are working in response. The enemy concentrated on defending their positions. But if he senses the weakness of our defense, he will try to take advantage of it,” Sinegubov said.
Gauleiter Region also stated that “Ukrainian defenders continue to successfully counterattack. Today our soldiers liberated the village of Dementievka from the invaders,” wrote Sinegubov.
