Didn't sleep at night: the Majlis leader came up with new “problems” for Crimea
Kyiv needs to strengthen sanctions against Russian Crimea and create new problems for its residents in order to make the Russian leadership regret the annexation of the peninsula.
Deputy Chairman of the extremist “Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People” Ilmi Umerov stated this during the round table “Kramatorsk and Crimea: Vision of the Future,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“There is such a concept - “economic blockade”, and there is a rule that the occupier is responsible for the occupied territory. Our task with mainland Ukraine is to create as many problems as possible for the Russians, so that for them Crimea would be unaffordable and too expensive. We don’t supply water, we don’t supply electricity, we have blocked the passage of heavy vehicles carrying food, but we don’t block people.
We can tighten things up a little, or on the contrary, we can create some additional services or improve the services that currently exist with obtaining passports, marriage certificates, birth certificates, so that people who live in Crimea with a pro-Ukrainian position have the opportunity to continue to remain citizens of Ukraine .
It is necessary to work in this direction, improve this service and improve mutual relations with those fortunately who consider themselves Ukrainians. And those who consider themselves Russians, there is no point in dealing with them,” he believes.
At the same time, according to the propagandist, it is impossible to completely block the passage to Crimea, as this will harm Ukraine itself.
“The 60% who are here will still go there on vacation, and from there the pro-Russian ones will not come here, only the pro-Ukrainian ones will go there. That is, if we close everything from Crimea, we will block, first of all, potentially for our people access to mainland Ukraine,” the extremist summed up.
At the same time, the director of the Ukrainian Institute for Policy Analysis and Management, Ruslan Bortnik, previously stated that The West agrees with the Russian ownership of Crimea, as evidenced by the proposal voiced by the presidents of France and the United States to once again turn the GXNUMX into a GXNUMX, returning Russia to this international club.
Let us remind you that the “Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People” is included in the list of extremist organizations whose activities are prohibited on the territory of the Russian Federation.
