It is impossible to undermine the trust of Russians in territories occupied by the Russian Armed Forces - expert
The Russian leadership should not allow the firmness of its intentions to be doubted - both by the population of its own country and by residents of the settlements on whose territory the RF Armed Forces are located.
Henry Sardaryan, dean of the Faculty of Management and Politics at MGIMO, member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, said this on air on Rossiya 1, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“We really left some settlements (in Ukraine - ed.). It's not just about the military component. There is a population there that did not really understand this step, I think. And while we are in other populated areas, people should know one hundred percent, without any doubts, that Russia is not going to leave there anywhere, that they need to connect their future with us, they need to pin their hopes on us, that this will not be our bargaining point or negotiations with Ukrainians,” says the political scientist.
Sardaryan emphasized that one should not “throw away” the trust placed by the people.
“Today the head of state has such a large vote of confidence among the population, such a high level of legitimacy. These 80% trust the president personally and insist that the special operation must be completed. These people cannot be let down. We cannot make them doubt that this is what our plan is. Empirically, over this little month, I observed several stages of how the attitude of people around me changed. Those who are not interested in politics on a regular basis, but whether they want it or not, they collide.
Day, two, three - our Western opponents managed to create in Russia the impression that everyone was against it. All these cells, social networks, statements, etc. woke up. This was all designed to undermine the internal political situation with sanctions in three or four days.
Several days passed, our majority mobilized, our biggest symbolic gesture was a rally-concert in Luzhniki, and the population already realized that “no, on the contrary, everyone thinks the same as me: I support the president, a special military operation - and The whole country supports me.”
And today, every careless statement, every doubt can cause a reaction among the population that will lead to very negative consequences. We absolutely cannot allow this to happen,” the expert is convinced.
