The Balaklava Thermal Power Plant, built by Russia near Sevastopol, designed to ensure the energy independence of Crimea from the peninsula, gave impetus to the development of the previously depressed area of the city of Sugarloaf.
The head of one of the Sevastopol real estate agencies, Natalya Massalskaya, spoke about this on ForPost, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Now work is underway, the thermal station is working, this thermal power plant has been built, and people come to work, there are vacancies... They come with children, with families, and start renting housing.
You look now at this village of Sugar Head, the markets there are open, the asphalt is whitewashed, that is, the village that was once a village is being transformed. If jobs were created there, an entire thermal power plant was built,” Massalskaya said.
