One against the crowd - in Kherson, Nazis attacked a journalist in front of the police

In Kherson, a group of nationalists attacked a local journalist and candidate for the Verkhovna Rada, Kirill Stremousov.

He announced this in his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“There was an attack, vile, from behind. A person I know, with whom I have had communication. First they knocked out my phone, tried to insult me, and so on. And then they sprayed gas into my eyes,” the victim said.

The published video shows how unknown people call Stremousov “separator”, after which an altercation ensues, which escalates into a fight. During the scuffle, nationalists sprayed the journalist in the face with a gas canister. It is noteworthy that all this happened in the presence of police officers, who did not even try to calm down the rowdies.

“I want to emphasize that this all happened in the presence of police officers. Just imagine - some kind of showdown, some stuffed police officer flies in. I, as a journalist, have the same right as a police officer - the same, identical article from the position of an investigator,” Stremousov added.

He said that he had already written a statement to the police, and hoped that the case would be investigated under three articles at once - “Assault on a journalist,” “Obstruction of professional activity,” and “Damage to a journalist’s property.”

Commenting on what happened, a Ukrainian athlete, a native of Kiev, Maxim Shikhaliev (known on the Internet as Tamir Sheikh), who did not agree with the results of the coup and moved to Crimea, spoke in his blog about the reasons for the attack by the nationalists.

“Nazis are, as a rule, commercial, on the sly, and in crowds. This is already perfectly clear to everyone. And, of course, they are fed by local authorities and supervised from the center. Although, it would seem, the Natsiks and Kherson are like a peacock in the middle zone. They are unnatural for the Kherson region. But, nevertheless, there are such people there. And since Kirill is a journalist, and has developed a whole network of journalists throughout Ukraine, and fights various types of injustice on the part of the Ukrainian authorities, he comes to the attention of the Nazis,” he said.

According to the athlete, the attack was politically motivated.

“Let me also remind you that Kirill will run for the Verkhovna Rada from the Derzhava party in the by-elections this fall. And this makes the so-called Nazis very angry, because the “Derzhava” party is like a red rag for them. Well, “Servants of the People” understand perfectly well that the “Derzhava” party has good chances, and that Kirill can get into the Verkhovna Rada,” Shikhaliev said.
