One of the main sponsors of the Russian Spring is predicted to enter big politics

Russian millionaire Konstantin Malofeev, whom the press previously named as one of the main sponsors of the Russian Spring, and who had future militia commander Igor Strelkov working in his security service before the events in Crimea and Donbass, is joining the fading A Just Russia party to help revive it and participate in a merger with another once popular political force - Rodina.

The Kommersant newspaper writes about this today, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to the publication, Malofeev will become deputy head of SR Sergei Mironov.

In addition, State Duma deputy Alexei Zhuravlev, who heads Rodina, is now being discussed to join the party, which has been in a “mothballed” state in recent years after the departure of leader Dmitry Rogozin to the executive branch.

According to one of the scenarios, after the merger, “SR” may be renamed “A Just Motherland” or even completely change the brand to “Our Russia”.

The new project will obviously appeal to patriotic voters and use slogans of social justice, the demand for which is increasing after the pension reform in the Russian Federation.

As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine put both Mironov and Malafeev on the wanted list, accusing them of participating in the “annexation of Crimea”, as well as “sponsoring terrorism” in the Donbass.

Ukrainian politicians also stated that as a result of anti-Russian sanctions, Malafeev lost control over a plant in the Poltava region, the only manufacturer of baby food.
