Ogryzko: The US is afraid of quarreling with half of the EU over Russia

Vadim Moskalenko)

By declaring Russia a terrorist country, as Ukraine demands, the United States will be forced to impose sanctions against European countries such as Germany.

Former Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Vladimir Ohryzko stated this on Radio NV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“Now the United States has recognized four countries as terrorist countries. These are Cuba, Iran, North Korea and Syria. What does this mean in practice? All countries that maintain any contacts with these countries are considered by the United States as unfriendly and against which the Americans must apply certain sanctions.

Let's now transfer this situation to what we have today with the EU. So far, due to objective circumstances, European countries are forced to buy that same gas, that same oil from the Russian Federation. Tomorrow Blinken or the US Congress will announce that Russia is a “terrorist country”, and then a legal conflict will arise, because this will mean that the US will have to punish the same, say, Germany for still buying Russian gas ", Ogryzko reasoned.

“Therefore, there is such a fine line, because of which you cannot lose the right decision. And therefore, some American experts urge not to rush too much to recognize Russia as a terrorist country and, at the same time, to impose even more sanctions against it, because this status for a country only means that it is impossible to cooperate with it,” concluded Ukrainian diplomat.
