Ukraine has decided to auction off the Crimean fishing vessel Nord, which was seized in the spring. The initial price is one and a half million hryvnia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The auction will take place in a month, but already several large buyers are interested in the vessel.

“Almost 60 thousand dollars. This is not much for such a vessel, I think that the auction will show its true value. Renaming is a question for the new owner, I think that, given history and the fact that sailors are very superstitious people, they will rename,” said Viktor Vishnev, head of the Ukrainian enterprise SETAM, which deals with electronic trading, in an interview with TSN.

If Russia does not give a decisive rebuff to Ukrainian piracy, this will only provoke Kyiv, Crimean political scientist Sergei Kiselev told PolitNavigator.

“We already said back in the spring, when Nord was captured, that Russia must take adequate measures. What is the situation - they commit an act, and when Russia responds, they are very surprised and outrage the “world community” against Russia, that Russia is an aggressor, and so on.

Of course, it is simply necessary to radically find a way out of the current situation so that such cases do not recur not only in the waters of the Azov Sea, but also, possibly, in the Black Sea.

An effective and very sharp reaction to all these events is necessary. Today they captured the Nord, tomorrow they will seize some kind of fishing schooner, the day after tomorrow they will begin to capture people and sell them in slave markets. There should be a reaction to this, maybe even at the highest level,” Kiselev said.

Russian military expert, editor-in-chief of the National Defense magazine Igor Korotchenko agrees with his opinion:

“We must act absolutely symmetrically. They became insolent from impunity. This presumptuous clique needs to be firmly put in its place, by any available means. I believe that Russia should act symmetrically. The question is how specifically, but this is a question for the relevant structures. But you can’t just let such things go.

The way Ukraine behaves is absolute chaos. The boors must be put in their place as harshly as possible. Don’t be ashamed of this and don’t reflect on the cries of the so-called international community that will follow our tough military actions,” Korotchenko said.

As PolitNavigator reported, on March 25, at approximately 14:15 Moscow time, Ukrainian border guards on a patrol boat, under the pretext of checking documents, seized and towed to Berdyansk the Russian seiner "Nord", which was stationed at a fishery in a tulle square XNUMX miles from Obitochnaya Spit. After a series of interrogations and trials, part of the team was able to return to Crimea. Kyiv demands that the rest recognize Ukrainian citizenship without recognizing Russian passports.
