“During the declaration of a regime of silence, the Chief of the General Staff determined a list of conditions under which fire would be opened to defeat militants: an attack on the positions of anti-terrorist operation forces, targeted fire, as well as fire on populated areas where civilians are located. What happened during the night was a provoking fire that was not carried out systematically and locally,” said the acting commander. Speaker of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vladislav Seleznev.

According to him, out of 10 shellings that occurred over the past night, 9 were concentrated in the area of the Debaltseve bridgehead.

“As of today, the ATO forces are ready for any challenges that exist. If the country’s leadership decides to change the format in which the ATO forces are today – “silence mode” – the ATO forces are ready to act accordingly,” he emphasized.

As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the DPR accused Kyiv of opening fire an hour after the truce was declared, in particular in the Debaltsevo direction. Due to this, DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko announced that the militias will open selective fire.
