The Verkhovna Rada is hysterical - the Ukrainian economy is suffering due to trade wars between the United States and Europe. The leader of the “Radical Party” Oleg Lyashko stated this in his blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the politician, internal markets need to be restored in Ukraine so as not to depend on the economic wars of the West.
“Europe is introducing a duty, Ukrainian producers are suffering, and the authorities are silent! Last week, the United States imposed an additional 25% tariff on steel products from Europe, Canada and Mexico. Europe responds with counter tariffs. Ukraine is the first to suffer from these trade wars, because the structure of Ukraine’s GDP consists of more than 50% of exports,” the deputy said.
He is outraged that Ukrainian officials do not react to this situation.
“In order to insure our producers against possible losses in foreign markets, Ukraine needs to develop the domestic market through large-scale infrastructure projects: road construction, housing, restoration of mechanical engineering. We need to change monetary policy, provide working capital to our enterprises so that we do not depend on trade wars,” Lyashko said.
