Inflation in Russia will be less than 4% in April - this is significantly lower than in Europe.
Russian President Vladimir Putin announced this today at the congress of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“For comparison, of course, this will be lower than in the eurozone countries, which are endlessly waiting for the collapse of the Russian economy and are trying to convince themselves of this, and they are trying to convince our partners of this. Let us remember again the famous American writer who once said that rumors about his death were greatly exaggerated. This is the case with our economy. As of March 13, inflation was 7,6%, and by the end of the month, at the beginning of April, it will reach the target indicators,” Putin said.
He recalled that foreign analysts predicted a depression for Russia, but life decreed differently.
“Western countries themselves are fully faced with the same problems. It has gotten to the point where their leaders are offering their citizens to switch to turnips instead of lettuce and tomatoes - turnips are a good product, but they will probably have to come to us for turnips, because our harvest level significantly exceeds those of our neighbors in Europe.
True, this, for example, is not their fault - these are the weather conditions, drought and so on, but, nevertheless, it will be difficult to do without our fertilizers in order to increase the yield at home. In any case, the Russian proverb comes to mind: “Don’t dig a hole for someone else, otherwise you yourself will fall into it.” It seems that this is exactly what is happening,” Putin noted.
