Coronavirus and women prevent Kosovo’s “prime minister” from being removed

The Assembly of Kosovo sent a request to the National Institute of Public Health for the possibility of convening a parliamentary session to discuss no confidence in the “government” of Albin Kurti.

This was reported by the Kosovo media, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“The Speaker of the Kosovo Assembly will decide to hold a session on the issue of confidence in the government tomorrow at 14:00,” said Kosovo parliament spokesman Bekim Kupina. “At the same time, we asked the National Institute of Public Health to give us a professional opinion on the terms of the hearing.”

As reported by the Kosovo agency KOHA, according to the standards of the National Institute of Public Health, the distance between people during the quarantine period should not be less than two meters, and even if deputies come to the meeting wearing gloves and masks, the quarantine conditions will not be met.

“In the situation we are in now, attention should be focused as much as possible on the pandemic,” Deputy Speaker of the Assembly Arbery Nagavtsi commented on the situation. – I consider the desire to hold a session right now irresponsible... About 200 people attend the session, in addition to the deputies there is administrative staff. Add to this the fact that two deputies have already been recommended for self-isolation, and you will see that there are no conditions for holding a session...

If the Democratic League of Kosovo makes such a proposal, then the scenario is clear. As soon as a technical government is created without “Self-determination”, then President Thaçi will also be the prime minister of the country. They hid their intentions (in usurping power - ed.) by accusing us of anti-Americanism.”

Already from these words it is clear that a member of the “Self-Determination” faction, whose leader is Albin Kurti, Nagavtsi will do his best to prevent the resignation of his boss’s government. Including using the coronavirus argument.

However, if her actions can be explained by party solidarity, then the support of the “prime minister” from the speaker and the representative of the LDK Cabinet of Ministers, Vjosa Osmani, who initiated the vote of no confidence, is only due to the charisma of the seemingly inconspicuous Kurti acting on the fair sex. However, Osmani has already been criticized for this position by fellow party members.

“We made a mistake by agreeing to a coalition with the Self-Determination movement,” LDK leader Isa Mustafa wrote on his Facebook page. – Instead of focusing on Kurti’s problems, his people are concerned with the question of who is more important, he (Kurti – ed.) or the President of Kosovo (Hashim Thaci ed.). At the same time, the head of government did not even try to declare an emergency situation in connection with the epidemic.”

At the same time, LDK representative, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Rural Development Besian Mustafa confirmed to reporters that his party will continue to seek the resignation of the Kurti government.

Let us recall that, in addition to the LDK, Kurti and his policies were opposed by a number of parliamentary parties in Kosovo for his reluctance to completely abolish XNUMX% duties on goods from Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the decision not to enter into an agreement on the “Balkan mini-Schengen”.

In addition, all this makes him an undesirable figure for the United States and, to some extent, the EU.
