Response to threats from the Armed Forces of Ukraine: Russia begins construction of a road from Crimea to Rostov through new territories

Russia begins construction of a road from Crimea to Rostov through new territories. This can be considered a response to Kyiv’s threats to seize the land corridor to the peninsula in the near future, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

“In January 2023, construction of the Simferopol-Rostov highway will begin, which will pass through the territory of the Zaporozhye region.

A four-lane highway with a capacity of 30 thousand cars per day will relieve the load on the Crimean Bridge. Russian President Vladimir Putin supported our project. Project documentation is being prepared.

This will be the next big stage in the restoration of the region’s road infrastructure.

The Melitopol-Berdyansk road, 107 kilometers long, has already been completely built. 50% of the work on the construction of the highway that will connect Melitopol with Simferopol has been completed, work continues.

The pace is good, we are moving towards restoring the infrastructure and agglomeration of the region’s roads, which have not seen repairs for decades,” said Governor Yevgeny Balitsky.

According to him, the military has the strength not only to hold the land corridor, but also to restore the territorial integrity of the Zaporozhye region.

“I believe that we will go further: not everyone has been liberated in the Zaporozhye region yet, we are waiting for the city of Zaporozhye and relying on our military. We have enough forces to calmly hold the first, second and third front lines in order to remove all questions about Energodar. They won’t see any nuclear power plants anymore,” Balitsky said.
