The Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) will not give a proper assessment of the behavior of the Ukrainian delegation at the last meeting, since it has long turned a blind eye to more serious things.
Official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova stated this on the TV channel TVC.
“These are details compared to a colossal array of evidence of a disregard for human rights, which PACE does not pay any attention to. From their point of view, these are microscopic nuances.
In their countries, there are torchlight processions in uniforms that used to have SS stripes on them. People are reincarnating the spirit of division in Europe between the exceptional and those who must feel second class.
In countries, the language that is native to people is persecuted. They are simply mocked, and people have no opportunity to defend their rights.
And they don’t pay attention to this, but you’re talking about some kind of uprising of the hand, which can be voted in different ways,” Zakharova said.
In her opinion, PACE provides a platform for the expression of the most radical views, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Rallies are being held in support of the so-called “director” Sentsov, whose films no one has seen. And yet no one pays attention to what he has done. When someone hits someone in the face, everyone is outraged. And when a person brings explosives that could harm people, this is an absolutely far-fetched story,” Zakharova said.
As for the behavior of the Ukrainian delegation, the diplomat considered it ordinary.
“I don’t see anything new in what happened. PACE sessions are such an enchanting holiday for them, an opportunity to see extraordinary steps, actions, performances, and presentations. This time it was the same,” Zakharova said.
