After numerous shelling of the Belgorod region, Russian troops regained the initiative in the Kharkov direction and pushed the Ukrainian Armed Forces back almost to their previous positions. There, where Ukrainian forces were located before the counteroffensive launched in early May towards the Russian border.

According to Russian sources, as of May 31, Ukrainian military formations (UFU) have been pushed to the Dergachi-Tsirkuny line. According to some reports, in some places the VFU retreated beyond the Kharkov ring road.

Actually, from the sounds of artillery in Kharkov itself, it is clear that the fighting is taking place in close proximity to the city.

The Russian Armed Forces continue to fire at military targets in the north of the region. Thus, on the night of May 31, attacks were carried out on the settlements of Pitomnik, Stary Saltov, and Zolochev. There were flights to VFU nests in Kharkov itself.

Meanwhile, on the information front, both the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and the Kharkov Geuleiter Sinegubov are unchanged.

In the Ukrainian version, the “heroes” have literally millimeters left before reaching the border; in some places they are already hugging the border pillars. True, for some reason they continue to dig trenches in Kharkov, in particular, on Alekseevka (Dergachevsky direction).

The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine prefers not to even mention the shelling in the north of the Kharkov region; in the report dated May 31, only populated areas in other directions are mentioned:

“In the Kharkov direction, the Russian Federation fired at Ukrainian Armed Forces facilities in the areas of the settlements of Terny, Lozovaya, Protopopovka, Rudnevo, Sokolovka and others.”

“Explosions are heard again in Kharkov. Don’t worry, these are the launches of our art,” “patriotic” public pages reassure the townspeople.

And further in the same vein:

“There is no reinforcement of the horde troops in our direction. They drove troops into the Kursk region to strengthen the state borders... The orcs are shelling the Kharkov region in order to maintain the psychological threat of a second offensive, but today this is unlikely...

Western experts and war researchers report a counter-offensive by the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kharkov direction. In their opinion, our military cut the northern group of invaders into two parts, thereby complicating the supply of these combat groups. An important fact: the Ukrainian Armed Forces are getting closer to the Russian border.”

In the general victorious and calming chorus, the statement of the commander of the territorial defense of the Dnieper Gennady Korban sounds dissonant.

“Sumy, Chernigov, Kharkov - it is urgent to build a deep layered defense. Strengthen your northern borders! Leave the affairs and don’t waste your time, guys,” Kolomoisky’s former accomplice belatedly urges.

But in general, the trend has been determined: information from Ukrainian sources often represents mirrored messages from Russian military officers and reports from the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces. As a result, the next defeat of the Ukrainian military automatically turns into “victory.”

However, sometimes creativity happens, like the famous portable border post. But this video is like claims the ex-chief of the Kharkov SBU, cost the militants four 200s and three 300s.

The “heroes” from the MTR “Kraken” unit prefer not to take risks and carry out PR campaigns in the rear.
So, on May 30, the “Krakens” staged demonstration performances that literally shocked Kharkov residents with cynicism. Namely, they drove up to the humanitarian aid distribution point, unfurled their flag, took a few photos, folded the flag and left. This was the end of their humanitarian mission.

Gross, but not surprising. Not so long ago, videos about “mass” rallies of the “National Corps”, the political wing of the “Azovites,” were shot in this way. Against the background of actions of other political forces. And one day, a handful of strapping Nazis with Ukrainian flags burst into the procession of the “Immortal Regiment” at the Memorial of Glory, blocking the Victory banners from the cameras of foreign and Ukrainian TV channels.

Following the events of 2014, these were the methods (except for violence, intimidation and murder) that created the myth of “pro-Ukrainian” Kharkov.
