The second strike on the Russian military base in Engels, where strategic aviation is located, could have been carried out by an American drone.
Retired IDF officer Grigory Tamar stated this on the Israeli television channel Iton TV, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to Tamar, during the first strike, a modernized Soviet Swift drone was used, which showed problems in Russian air defense, and after that Ukraine received American drones.
“To this day there are disputes - for the first time Ukraine struck an airfield in Engels, but the version regarding an old Soviet drone, modernized, seems to me the most plausible, to me personally. It was demonstrated to Ukraine’s American partners that the Russian air defense system is not perfect. After which Zelensky flies to the United States, after which the US President promises Ukraine attack American drones. My version is that the first batch of drones has already arrived in Ukraine and it was just such a drone that dealt the second blow to Engels,” Tamar said.
