In the footsteps of Poroshenko: one of the leaders of the Opposition Bloc bought a confectionery factory in Russia
The Ukrainian sweets manufacturer Konti has agreed to purchase the Krasnaya Zarya confectionery factory in the Russian city of Ivanovo, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The seller is structures associated with Promsvyazcapital of the brothers Dmitry and Alexey Ananyev, the publication clarifies. A representative of Promsvyazkapital declined to comment. The general director of Red Dawn, Pavel Afanasyev, neither confirmed nor denied the deal. The parties are only discussing the production of Konti products under the contract at the free capacity of Krasnaya Zarya, he noted. A request to Conti sent on October 25 remained unanswered.
Konti is a large confectionery holding, its main beneficiary is the Donetsk oligarch from Rinat Akhmetov’s circle, Boris Kolesnikov. In 2010–2012 served as Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine under Viktor Yanukovych. Now Kolesnikov is one of the leaders of the Opposition Bloc party, represented by 43 votes in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, according to the party’s website.
“Konti” produces “Super-Kontik” cookies, Bonjour marshmallows, Konti candies, etc. The company’s head office and confectionery factory, according to its own data, are located in Konstantinovka, controlled by Kiev, in the Donetsk region; two other plants are in Gorlovka and Donetsk.
In Russia, a subsidiary of the Konti-Rus company and a confectionery plant operate in the Kursk region. After the events of 2014, Konti had to stop the work of two confectionery factories in the Donetsk region, Ukrainian Forbes reported.
The company's business in Russia, on the contrary, was actively developing: Conti reported investments in the construction of new lines and an increase in production. According to the association of enterprises of the confectionery industry "Askond", in Russia "Konti" with a market share of about 2% produces approximately 70 tons of confectionery products per year.
