Ordinary Belarusians do not feel the benefits that the Union State provides, because it does not resolve such simple and pressing issues as the abolition of passport control at the border, or, for example, roaming.
The Chairman of the Council of the Republic of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus, Mikhail Myasnikovich, stated this on air to the ONT TV channel, a Polit Navigator correspondent reports.
“These things do not require large investments that infringe on the national interests of political decisions. They are for humans. When the “green corridor” does not work, especially when you have to change from one flight to another, and you stand in a general queue... And then, willingly or unwillingly, a person asks the question: where is our Union State? And he remembers the European Union, where there is one corridor for members and another for everyone else. If we say that everything is done in the interests of man, then we need to start with this. A person should feel equal rights,” Myasnikovich said.
He recalled that according to the Union Treaty between Russia and Belarus, all decisions must be made by consensus or on the basis of appropriate written agreements.
“Here is the root of evil, because our partners make decisions based on their own interests. Unilaterally. In addition, the decisions made are not implemented,” Myasnikovich said.
However, according to his information, the issue of canceling roaming between the two states will be resolved this year. This can be a positive example.
