A chase with shooting on the Ukrainian-Romanian border ended with the confiscation of 8 boxes of cigarettes
On the Ukrainian-Romanian border, border guards stopped an attempt at tobacco smuggling, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was reported by the press service of the State Border Guard Service.
Yesterday, while checking operational information, servicemen from the Bolshoi Bychkov department noticed two people moving towards the border with packages on their shoulders. To prevent illegal border crossings, border guards immediately began pursuing the offenders, during which warning shots were fired.
Despite the legal demands of the border guards, taking advantage of the significant distance from the patrol, the smugglers abandoned their cargo and fled. When inspecting the area, servicemen discovered 8 boxes of cigarettes, which contained 1500 packs of Marble brand and 2500 packs of Jing Ling without excise stamps.
The tobacco products were delivered to the border unit.
