There is nothing to get from Belarus except nostalgia for the USSR, - political scientist

Alexander Lukashenko continues to bargain for integration into the Union State, knowing that he is playing on the nostalgic feelings of the population of the Russian Federation, while Belarus has nothing to offer in material terms.

Russian political scientist Andrei Suzdaltsev said this on air on the PolitWera Internet channel, the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to Suzdaltsev, Russia without Belarus is independent in economic, food or military terms, but not vice versa.

“There is nothing to get from Belarus. Not in terms of market or products. That is, all the products that are produced there are also produced here. It’s either of the same quality or better, because we have a market economy, you know?

In terms of defense, Kaliningrad is there. There is practically no army in Belarus. Now we are at least a little raising its aviation, because aviation there has crumbled, we are providing aviation, at least something.

That is, the only thing we will get is our nostalgia, our memories of the Soviet Union. When we say “integration into the Union State,” it seems to us that we are restoring the Soviet Union. This is our payment for this,” Suzdaltsev said.
